Events at Morwellham

Festivals, Car Shows, Folk Music there is something for everyone. Morwellham is the perfect open-air venue for events; and we are developing a range of indoor venues too, all in restored Victorian buildings with diverse charm and facilities. Last year, in August, Devon's own Seth Lakeman headed the 6th Annual Folk Festival, when over 1000 people of all ages enjoyed a sell-out performance held on the newly-restored Higher Copper Quay. Morwellham Country Fair, a new annual event, was also held in August, with over 700 people enjoying a mainly rain-free day!

As venues, both indoor and out, become available, details will be added to this section of the website. Archaeological conservation and access improvements to the waterfront continue through the winter of 2008-2009 and in March the restored Ship Inn Dining Room will open for business. This elegant building, on higher ground behind the Ship Inn, was built during Morwellham's Victorian heyday to cope with the increased numbers of visiting copper smelting agents, merchants and businessmen. This room will be available for Morwellham events and private functions. Do, of course, contact us direct for any information in advance. All profits from Events at Morwellham go to the Morwellham and Tamar Valley Trust, a registered charity, and will be used in the short-term to improve facilities for even better events and activities at the Quay.
