- Portaudio
We provide a mobile service making it possible to record your music anywhere, both in the studio whilst you are rehearsing or at one of your live gigs.
Once we have recorded your music you then have the option to recieve it as separate tracks on a CD that can be used for your own purposes or you can or we can mix and master the music for you to create a professional-sounding CD.

What Portaudio Can Offer
With a total of 192 tracks per song.
(24-bit/48 hHz recording is also available, with up to 8 tracks recorded simultaneously).
There are two services available from Portaudio - Recording Sessions and Editing Sessions.

Recording Session
Every instrument will be either mic'd up or DI'd as appropriate to record it onto it's own separate track and a drum kit can be captured by as many microphones as needed to.
"Why not really capture the atmosphere from your audience? They can be mic'd up too!"
All mics are high quality and are provided, as are cables and mic stands.
Then you have the choice of either using the Editing Session Service, or simply receiving the separate WAV file tracks on a DVD data disc to use for your own purpose.

Editing Session
A '1st copy' will be emailed (or on CD via post) to you so you may give your approval or propose changes as you see fit. You will be prompted for your thoughts with a "prompt list", which will be sent along with the song.
Your recommendations will then be acted upon to create a final mix, which will be mastered to produce a professional-sounding CD.

We wan't it to sound good to!
But first and foremost we wan't it to sound like YOU wan't it to sound. This applies equally to recording AND mixing down afterwards.
Your aims and opinions will be actively sought during mixing and mastering.

Benefits Of Portaudio

*No need for the whole band to book the day off and travel to a studio. Portaudio comes to record you whilst playing a gig in a packed pub or in your usual rehearsal space, when you would normally practise.

Recording A Live Gig
Most bands sound rather different live to how they sound in the studio, where all too often the energy, the spontaneity and pure adrenaline rush assosiated with live music is surgically polished out of the mix.
Wouldn't it be good to record the band all playing at the same time.
One take and capture the raw excitement, the impromptu guitar solos and drum fills, not to mention the atmosphere of your gigs?

Record A Rehearsal
Want to produce a high quality demo disc?
Near studio quality is possible with this type of digital recoding. You will be involved in the mixing process to ensure you get what you want.
*Rehearsal space is available at Freehold Street Studios if required*

Price List
Editing Session (Charged per song):
* First 5 sogs £15 per song.
* Each song from the 6th onwards £10 per song.
Travel - Upto a 10 mile radius of Northampton FREE and 40p per mile thereafter.
Pricing Examples:
Example 1 - Rehearsal Enviroment:
* 2 hour set up and record = 2 x £25
* 3 songs mixed & mastered = 3 x £15
Total - for 3 good quality demos = £95
Example 2 - Gig Enviroment:
* 4 hours to set up and record a gig = 4 x £25
* Mix & master 7 songs = £95
Total - for 7 quality live tracks = £195
