Samantha Gibb & The Cartel formed their band in Miami Beach, FL in 2002. In the fall of 2006 they decided to rent a house for two months to check out Nashville, TN. In their time spent there, they fell in love with the musicians, the people, and the lifestyle that Nashville had to offer. With all the said, they thought the best thing and only thing to do, would be to pack their bags and move to Music City. All of them, Samantha Gibb (lead vocals, piano, and rhythm guitar), Lazaro Rodriguez (lead guitar, piano, and back-up vocals), and Nick Sallons (bass) all lived together in a house which is now their studio, M.E.G. Productions, in East Nashville. Samantha Gibb & The Cartel, whom originally were called M.E.G. after Samantha's father, the late Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, decided to change their name to something they felt could be easier for their fans to search and find. They will continue, however to keep the name for their studio and production company. Currently, they are working on their fourth album as well as playing shows and planning for their 2010 tour.
