Add Information:

The Freed Unit are Jonathan Kerry, Matt Kerry and Gary Gilchrist, with contributions from Colin Altuccini and Jeremy Wiltshire (as their globe-headed mascot) for live appearances. The band's first release was in Autumn 1996 with the CD album 'Field Reports From Out-There' on Sorted Records. This release was celebrated with a live appearance at Leicester's City Gallery with Kevin Hewick. Charming reviews in praise of the album appeared in NME ("Several tons of invention, a strong whiff of Nectarine No 9 and a lo-fi button. Oh, and the small matters of tunes, choruses and talent.") and Melody Maker ("There was a time when we got The Normal, who invented Mute Records...We also got Thomas Leer and Robert Rental, who aren't famous for inventing anything except bloody odd music. And now we get The Freed Unit, who are all these things and more at once. The Freed Unit are today's electro-pop").
