About Harambe is a five-pice soul and funk band based in London. Collectively, Harambe draw on a diverse range of influences - from the classic soul artists of the 60s and 70s such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers, through jazz and fusion greats Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, via New Orleans funkateers the Neville Brothers and Dr John, and the 80s Britfunk of Level 42 and Incognito, to nu-soul pioneers Prince, Erykah Badu, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, Lewis Taylor and D'Angelo. The resultant musical gumbo can only be described as 'soul for the 21st century'.

Harambe have performed at many of the top venues in the capital - Camden's Jazz Cafe, The Cafe De Paris, the London Astoria, Ronnie Scott's, The Orange, The Troubadour, to name just a few - and have also wowed audiences at festivals across Europe, culminating in a tour of Spain in 2005.
